SIEM REAP

Running alongside the Siem Reap River, Siem Reap Town is the gateway to the temples of the Khmer Empire. Classed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Angkor Archaeological Park encompasses dozens of temple ruins including Bayon, Banteay Srei, Ta Prohm, and the legendary Angkor Wat. Unlike many other world class monuments, the ruins of Angkor are as yet unspoiled by over-development or tourists.

You will most likely stay in Siem Reap Town during your visit to Angkor. The town offers a wide range of hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, pubs and shops for a variety of budgets, from the luxurious five star hotels to the backpacking $10 a night guesthouses. There is something for everyone!

Aside from the Angkor complex, there is plenty to keep you occupied, from experiencing traditional ‘Apsara’ performances, the old & new markets, boat trips on Tonle Sap Lake, horse-trekking, bird sanctuary, crafts, silk farms, cooking classes, massage, and much more.
