BY BOAT

From Siem Reap - A boat departs daily at approximately 7am and costs between $12-$15 per person. The journey takes between 2-3 hours (can take longer in the dry season due to low water) and crosses the very picturesque Tonle Sap Lake before travelling up the the Sangher River. The boats do not meet international safety standards, however (for the brave) the best seat in the 'house' is definitely on the roof!

BY ROAD

From Siem Reap – National Routes 6 and 5 (approx 185km). The road between Siem Reap and Sisophon is in poor condition, however the stretch of road between Sisophon and Battambang is in good condition. A private taxi costs between $30-$35 and takes between 3-5 hours.

From Phnom Penh – National Route 5 is in good condition and the journey to Battambang (approx 290km) takes between 5-6 hours. Air-conditioned buses depart Phnom Penh, from near Phsar Nath, on a daily basis, usually around 7am. Prices are approximately $3-$4 per person.

BY TRAIN
